Seamus Gee Legacy Project

Seamus Gee Legacy Project mission is to honour Seamus’ legacy by supporting youth and families through education, mental health advocacy, and community care helping individuals build skills, access support, and find hope as they work toward a healthier, more resilient future. Seamus left us suddenly and much to soon and in effort to keep his memory alive and help others in need, the Seamus Gee Legacy Project was created.

Volunteer opportunities include helping at fundraising events

  • Assisting at our annual community walk
  • Help with rugby tournament – first one was held in the summer of 2025.
  • Help with online auctions
  • Sell tickets for sporting events
  • Have fun helping with some music bingo nights – coming soon

Other Programs

  • We support some different youth programs, present high school bursaries and scholarships, present a couple of annual awards in memory of Seamus, supply Christmas hampers and buy birthday cakes for other children.

A Special Birthday Cake Initiative

This Oct. 23, as he has since 2019, Langley City resident, and founder of the Seamus Gee Legacy Project, Mike Gee will visit a local bakery and ask if there is a birthday cake that is waiting for pickup that day, because he would like to pay for it.

When Mike explains it’s his way of honouring the memory of his late son, Seamus, on what would have been his birthday, it can be an “emotional” moment for the people in the shop.

It’s a wonderful way to remember your loved ones on their special day and Mike would love to see others participate.

To the person behind me, the world is a better place with you in it.

Love the person in front of you

We support our community’s efforts to help our youth and families.

We have a number of products including hoodies with a special message on the back, hats and caps, key chains, tshirts and hoodies.

Our hoodies have the following message on the back. “To the person behind me, the world is a better place with you in it. Love the person in front of you”

Mike visiting Langley Secondary School to present this year’s Seamus Gee Memorial Trades Bursary

This bursary was created to help support a student enrolling in the Youth Train in Trades program within the Langley School District—a program Seamus himself was scheduled to begin just months after his passing.
