Langley SNOW ANGELS program is here!
Langley Volunteer Bureau is proud to announce that after piloting the Snow Angels program last winter, we are now ready to launch a new website!
What is the Snow Angels program?
In an effort to support seniors and those with disabilities in the community during the winter months, we are providing seniors, and people with mobility issues, an opportunity to register to have the sidewalks in front of their homes cleared of snow.
This program is offered in partnership with the City of Langley, Township of Langley, and our local Langley Seniors Resource Centre. If you are a senior or person with mobility issues, who lives in Langley, you can sign up here to request a Snow Angel. We will match you with a volunteer in your neighbourhood, and they will try their best to keep your sideways clear this winter.
Residents who meet the criteria can register now to request a snow angel! Click the link below to read about the Snow Angels program and register.
We are looking for snow angels to clear the sidewalks. Snow Angels registration is available for volunteers at bettercommunity.ca.
Since 2021, we have delivered over 21,000 cards to seniors across Langley! We deliver cards to over 30 schools in Langley for students from Kindergarten through University to write a personal message to seniors in the area. The cards are picked up and delivered to seniors residences, senior services such as Langley Meals on Wheels, Langley Seniors Resource Society, and the Aldergrove Legion. We will also be delivering these heartfelt cards to the Langley Hospice Society and the Langley Memorial hospital! We have a number of card programs throughout the yea. Along with Remembrance Day for veterans, we also have a Winter card, Valentines and Spring card series. Our program expanded last year so individuals can also be registered to received cards from students and youth groups in the area. It’s a heart-filled program that brings joy to both those completing the cards, and those receiving them.
If you would like to help with this program please register to volunteer with us 🙂For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org
