You can explore volunteer opportunities by category (click on category icons below), by checking out of members list for an organization that aligns with your interests, or by exploring our Better Community app opportunities (click “Browse Volunteering opportunities”. There is something for everyone! Scroll down to explore.
Students
If you are a student, look for our student icon in the volunteer opportunities or use some key search works (15+, 18+, etc). Some members take students for some positions. We always suggest finding the member that resonates the most with your interests and contacting them if age limits are not indicated. Fairs, festivals and community events are a great place for students to help out.
You can learn more on our Student Opportunities page how volunteering may qualify for credits towards your graduation as part of the WAVE course. Student volunteering and potential WAVE opportunities are highlighted next to opportunities that students can register for.
Volunteering from Home
Want to volunteer from home? We have virtual opportunities available as well as in-person. Volunteer opportunities will have an icon beside the position. Click on the ‘Browse Volunteering Opportunities’ button below and look for the Virtual icon!
Info for all Volunteers
PLEASE LIMIT YOUR REGISTRATIONS TO YOUR TOP ONE OR TWO PICKS. This ensures you are not overcommitting … if things don’t work out, you can always register for more. If you are interested in more than one position within the same opportunity, register for your top pick and when the member gets in touch, you can let them know you’re open to other positions.
Create your online profile in our Better Community app by selecting ‘Register to be a Langley Volunteer” and you are ready to register with your favorite organizations!
**Please note you can browse opportunities, but to register to volunteer, a profile in our Better Community app is required. Once a profile is created, return to your chosen volunteer opportunity to register as a volunteer for them. Creating your initial profile will not register you with the opportunity you were browsing.
