A Special Birthday Cake Initiative
Each year on October 23, Langley resident and founder of the Seamus Gee Legacy Project, Mike Gee visits local bakeries with a simple but meaningful request. He asks if there are any birthday cakes waiting to be picked up that day, and if there is, he offers to pay for them.
Mike began this tradition in 2019 as a way to honour the memory of his late son, Seamus, on what would have been his birthday. When he shares the reason behind his gesture, it often becomes an emotional moment for those in the shop.
It is a heartfelt way to remember loved ones on their special day, and Mike hopes others may feel inspired to take part. Anyone who would like to participate in honour of someone in their own life is encouraged to contact the Seamus Gee Legacy Project for guidelines on how to get involved.
To the person behind me, the world is a better place with you in it.
Love the person in front of you

We support our community’s efforts to help our youth and families.

We have a number of products including hoodies with a special message on the back, hats and caps, key chains, tshirts and hoodies.
Our hoodies have the following message on the back. “To the person behind me, the world is a better place with you in it. Love the person in front of you”

Mike visiting Langley Secondary School to present this year’s Seamus Gee Memorial Trades Bursary
This bursary was created to help support a student enrolling in the Youth Train in Trades program within the Langley School District—a program Seamus himself was scheduled to begin just months after his passing.
