2026 Unsung Hero – Shruti Chamoli
Shruti Chamoli, Chair of the Langley Volunteer Bureau, was named the 2026 Unsung Hero. Chamoli was recognized for leveraging her 20 years of HR expertise to champion pay equity and anti-racism while scaling the bureau to support over 75 non-profits with 5,200+ volunteers.

Long-time LVB volunteer and current Vice-President received the 2025 H.D. Stafford Good Citizen Award from the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber specifically recognized her service with the Langley Volunteer Bureau among numerous community organizations.

2020 – Cards for Seniors
The organization’s signature Cards for Seniors program has grown into a well-recognized community initiative, delivering thousands of handmade cards annually to seniors to reduce isolation and spread kindness, with over 35000 cards as of date!
2018 – Launch of BetterCommunity.ca
One of LVB’s biggest achievements was creating BetterCommunity.ca, a centralized online volunteer matching platform that allows:
Community members to search volunteer opportunities
Non-profits to recruit volunteers
Organizations to manage volunteer recruitment digitally
This has become the primary volunteer portal for many Langley non-profits.
2017 Eric Flowerdew Volunteer Award – Sylvia Anderson
A founding volunteer and charter member of Langley Volunteer Bureau received the Eric Flowerdew Volunteer Award for decades of community service. The Township specifically highlighted her work as a volunteer coordinator for Langley Volunteer Bureau.
