We are looking for volunteers interested in helping with labelling of cards , packaging cards for teachers, and then resorting the collected cards to package them for delivery to seniors. Some help in dropping off and picking up card at Langley schools and youth groups may be needed. We do four card programs a year – Remembrance Day, Winter, Valentines Day and Spring card series. There are two sorting sessions with each program … one to package for the schools about 5 or 6 weeks prior to event, and another to sort collected cards into facilities about 2 or 3 weeks prior to event – with some adjustments according to school calendar.
The cards are distributed to a number of Langley senior facilities and care homes. They bring smiles to the faces of our seniors and help bring the community together. It is a well-loved program and we have delivered almost 30,000 cards to date!
