In the Spring of 2016, a Task Force was created by the Non-Profit Committee of the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce. After consultation with Langley Non-Profit organizations, volunteers and businesses the Task Force determined that it was time to initiate a Langley Volunteer Bureau:
“To support youth, families and seniors who want to be connected and involved in their neighbourhoods and bridge the divide of community outreach, providing non-profit agencies with access to committed individuals who can work together to make a real difference.”
November 29, 2016 – We were pleased to announce the launch of the Langley Volunteer Bureau, aka ‘Langley Volunteers’, an independent, not-for-profit society formed to promote the value of volunteering and to connect the volunteers in the community with the organizations who need them. Envision Financial, Division of First West Credit Union, was a founding partner who set up our original website, social media campaigns, provided us meeting space, annual funding and more!
Non-profit organizations in Langley benefit greatly from volunteers and know the importance of how volunteers add to the success of their organization. Volunteer hours add enormous value to each organization. Without volunteers most non-profit organizations would not be able to provide the programs and services they do! We strive to provide fully qualified volunteers from day one. We try to match volunteers to the needs of the organization and provide extra services such as help your volunteer get their Police Information Check completed if required.
Langley Volunteers will be out in the community actively promoting volunteering in Langley!
